Started Nexcel Synthetics in 1997; PP carpet backing, PP fibers/yarns, PE/PP artificial turf – Grew from $400K in 1997 to $60M in 2004 – Sold to Blue Point Capital in 2004 – Purchased back as ITS in 2010. American Synthetics (americansynthetics.org) – Formed in 2009 in Charleston, SC – Producing polywoven packaging.
ITS purchased back Nexcel assets in 2010 in conjunction with Northstar Capital. ITS purchased Sprinturf in August 2010 to form first fully integrated turf company.
