I’m a dentist in a small rural town in Northern Michigan.
We do not have the virus here.
My dental practice is closed by Executive Order of Gov. Whitmer for a month now and for another 2 weeks to go. I’ve applied for the EIDL – no $$$ yet. I cannot get any bank to accept my PPPL application. I’ve therefore had to lay-off all 10 of my staff. I paid their last 2 week payroll but I cannot keep doing that. In my town there are only 2 dental offices… so I care for roughly half of the 9000 residents. I’m still seeing emergencies but they are becoming more & more frequent the longer this statewide quarantine is in effect. This is a tragic time in history… but this is NOT a “one size fits all” crisis. NYC is NOT my little town. Our SPIRIT and our local ECONOMY is dying and we do not have the resources like DET, like NYC, like LA, like DC… to recover.
GOV WHITMER… think logically. Lift the ORDER May 1. Let us figure out how it’s safe to treat our patients.
